| The Process |
| |

Working on the original sculpture.
The Foundry Bronze Collection by Victoria Manufacturing in Bogota, Colombia, utilizes a combination of two procedures of fabrication, "lost wax" and the "egg yolk" process. Both procedures involve the creation of model patterns, which later become a bronze reproduction object. This object is the original piece designed by the sculptor or a faithful reproduction of the original piece.
The procedure of choosing will be selected upon the complexity of the sculpture. In the first procedure a wax model is created and later covered by a mix of components. This model is introduced in an oven where the wax is replaced with melted bronze through a vaporization process. The sections created are ready to be compiled with the sections generated by the second procedure. These parts are blended through bronze solder to mold the final sculpture. Finally the sculpture is polished and painted with acids to give it the final color. |
